Perfecting Imperfect Under Eyes

Whether it be thanks to a restless night, or just problematic pigmentation - there's just no reason to put up with dark under eyes!

I know we've all been there and that's why I've dedicated this post to sharing my tips and favorite products for concealing darker-than-desired under eye skin. Read below and learn how I created this look, and check out my top three tips to help combat those seemingly un-concealable areas!

10 STEPS TO ACHEIVE THIS LOOK:

  1. Prime the skin with Smashbox Cosmetics Photo Finish Primer using clean hands, and allow for the product to set.

  2. Using a damp Beauty Blender, apply Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in dabbing motions making sure it's all blended evenly and line-free.

  3. Apply a thin layer of Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector in Light Peach, to neutralize the dark circles and follow up with MAC Cosmetics Select Cover-Up Concealer in shade nc25.

  4. Then, after setting the face with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder, contour the cheekbones and outer area of the face using the Smashbox Cosmetics Contour Palette in Light/Medium.

  5. Highlight above the cheekbones using the highlight powder shade Dripping In Gold from the Anastasia Beverly Hills That Glow - Glow Kit.

  6. Dust Motives Cosmetics Pressed Blush, in the shade Baby Doll, to the apples of the cheeks by blending in outward and upward motions.

  7. Fill in and shape the brows using the Ziba Beauty Brow Trio in Light Brown.

  8. For the lips, apply Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Collection Lipstick in shade Kim K.W.

KEY TIPS FOR CONCEALING PROBLEM AREAS:

1. Make sure the under eyes are hydrated and prepped for corrector!

2. Apply a thin layer of corrector, that is the opposite color of the skin, to help neutralize the darkness. You can locate the correct color for your skin by referencing a standard color wheel. Usually a peach toned corrector or concealer is a great fix for many areas!

3. Always...ALWAYS set with translucent powder! My go-to is the the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Under Eye Powder - it is absolutely amazing!

Good luck and let me know if you have any concealing questions in the comments below! As always, be sure to tag me in your posts if you try any of these products or techniques! I love to see your artistry! xoxo @makeupbylusine
