Ta-Ta Trouble Skin

10 Steps to Transforming Your Trouble Skin

Believe it or not, when I started working on this client, she had deep dark circles under her eyes, dry problem patches of skin, and even a few pimples! These images are not filtered and yet you can see very little sign of any of these issues...right?! The magic of makeup is incredible, but it is also the application process and the formula of the products you're using. Read below and check my instagram for all my favorite products!

  1. Prime skin with smoothing primer and apply a long wear or HD foundation using a damp Beauty Blender.

  2. For imperfections and problem areas that show through foundation, spot treat them individually by applying concealer that is the same color as your foundation. To maintain a more natural but covered loon, blend edges of concealed areas out instead of covering the entire face with heavy foundation.

  3. For dark under eye circles, apply a thin coat of peach or orange toned color corrector and blend with clean beauty blender and top with a concealer that is 1 to 2 shades lighter using a concealer brush. Make sure to tap gently so as to not move the color corrector that was previously applied. Finally use your beauty blender to blend the edges of the concealer into the foundation to create a seamless finish.

  4. Set entire foundation with a translucent powder and a fluffy powder brush.

  5. Apply bronzer just above the hollow of cheeks to define cheekbones creating a lifted look, and follow by applying highlighter just at the top of the cheekbones to create luminosity.

  6. After priming the eyes, apply dark shadow to the entire lid making sure to stop right below the crease and blend out with a warm shadow to create a gradient and soften the dark shadow. Do the same at the bottom lash line.

  7. Apply lashes and 2 coats of mascara to top and bottom of lashes

  8. Using a brown brow gel, fill in and shape the brows, making sure it still looks natural and not too drawn in.

  9. Apply blush to the apples of the cheeks and blend up and out

  10. Finally, apply liner and lipstick and set your entire face with a skin finishing spray.

I hope these steps help you say sayonara to problem skin! Head to my instagram (@makeupbylusine) to learn what key products were used in creating this look!
